Textiles 4.0

By connecting the physical and digital worlds, the fourth industrial revolution is creating many exciting new opportunities for the textile and fashion industries. At CIRTex, we are working on directly linking the production floor and the end customer through rethinking the digital workflow and data circulation that drive the entire textile production chain. This area of research involves the use of sensors, real time big data analytics, and robotic manufacturing processes. These developments are changing the way we think about production in general, and textile manufacturing in particular. Innovations in digital manufacturing, digital simulations, communication technology, e-commerce, and digital visualization are now being incorporated into the textile industry, creating fertile ground for future developments.
